Do you get it yet, you stupid democratic dumbfucks?

On Larry King tonight, he asked Robin Williams if President Bush had been "a disappointment." Williams said yeah. I would have said no, he hasn't been, because I didn't expect anything from him.

On the other hand...

Like twin Jacques Cousteaus of the political world, President Bush and Congress are probing the depths of public opinion polling as voters exasperated over Iraq, immigration and other issues give them strikingly low grades.

"The big thing would be the war," said independent Richard MacDonald, 56, a retired printer from Redding, Calif. "I don't think he knew what he got into when he got into it." As for Congress, MacDonald said, "It's just the same old same old with me. A lot of promises they don't keep."

Emphasis mine.

A majority in a CNN-Opinion Research Corp. survey in late June said Democratic control of Congress was good for the country. Yet only 42 percent approved of what Democratic leaders have done this year - when Democrats failed to force Bush to change policy on Iraq.

Read that again, Democratic dumbfucks. Slowly. Have someone read it to you if necessary. Let it sink in. Do you get it yet? We elected you to stop him and he isn't going to do it if you ask nicely.

"The voters voted for change and they expected change, and they see an institution still incapable of getting anything done," said GOP pollster Linda DiVall.

Even the GOP pollster gets it, Democratic dumbfucks.

In an early June AP-Ipsos poll, 32 percent approved of his work, tying his low in that survey. Other June polls in which he set or tied his personal worst included 27 percent by CBS News, 31 percent by Fox News-Opinion Dynamics, 32 percent by CNN-Opinion Research Corp. and 26 percent by Newsweek.

We.

  1. This is exactly what I said to Monkey Muck, who asked the same question:

Impeachment is not a simple thing. Among other things,...

"In order to convict the accused, a two-thirds majority of the senators present is required." wikipedia

This would seem to be a difficult task seeing as how we only have 51 Democratic senators, and one of them is still very ill. To a degree, it does a disservice to our elected Democratic officials to say that they are not doing everything they can to stop the Madness of King George. I don't think anybody is "pussyfooting" around. This is very serious. I would just say this:

"Any damn fool can shout, 'free cookies for everybody!' Rational people figure out what can and cannot be done, determine how to actually deliver on a plan, gather support and then pursue the plan logically. Rational people get the job done." Zaius Nation

Not that I don't agree with your sentiment! Happy Fourth of July! And I hope that I don't sound to sanctimonious.

  2. What plan have the democrats delivered on? What are they pursuing logically? What has the U.S. got to do with rationality?

    We've had this discussion before.

I, like a lot of people who knew the country was in trouble seven years ago, am just sick and tired of waiting for my elected "leaders" to catch up.

As far as waiting for your "elected 'leaders' to catch up" - the last I heard, Henry Waxman has started over 70 investigations.

I would not sell these guys short so quickly. They have only in power since February. I would guess that it is probably not that easy to undo years of GOP damage in five months, especially with the Republican congress mucking up the works, and Bush threatening to veto everything.

  4. Maybe the problem is, as MM alluded to over there, that they're not *perceived* to be doing anything.

And if growing up in the eighties under Reagan taught me anything, it's that in modern politics, perception is at least as important as reality.

Bush knows that. How come the other side doesn't?
