I saw this film so many times as a kid - and I have no recollection whatsoever of that gloriously insane, surreal and joyful first 25 seconds or so of the title sequence.
I also didn't realize the Sherman Brothers did the music for this film. Um. Not their best work. "No Dogs Allowed" is memorable, but more for Thurl Ravenscroft's thundering bass of a voice than for the actual song. ("No dogs allowed! You're not a crowd!" Er... what?)

ReplyDeleteI always thought it was "You're not OUR crowd," which makes slightly more sense.
