Yeah, I can see the influence, but I don't think Joe stole this any more than George Harrison stole "He's So Fine."

Subconscious, most likely, along with some choral coincidence.

Now if you want to hear something STOLEN, listen to the Decemberists' "Angel Won't You Call Me" (off "5 Songs") and then Three Dog Knight's "Shambala!"

It's funny you mention George Harrison, actually--who do you think produced and played guitar on the Badfinger record?

And wasn't he judged to *have* stolen "He's So Fine?"
