I've been good and I've been bad, But...

That's the way - Shellshock
Hold on!It's never enough
It's never enough until your heart stops beating
The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain
Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

You called me on the phone, you left me all alone
All I get from you is shellshock
Another day goes by, now all I do is cry
All I get from you is shellshock
I tell the world and save my soul
The rain falls down and I feel cold
The cold that sleeps within my heart
It tears the earth and sun apart
But that's the way that I can win
A victim of your evil sin
You've lost the hold you've had on me
By causing the changes that you never see

Hold on! It's never enough
It's never enough until your heart stops beating
The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain
Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

When we walk through open doorways,
Counting time in one or more ways
I can't find my peace of mind
A life becomes a life of crime
And that's the day I call your name
I came to you, I called in vain
You lost the faith within your heart
The fire in your soul from the end to the start

Hold on!It's never enough
It's never enough until your heart stops beating
The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain
Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

I've been good and I've been bad
But common sense I've never had
No matter how I try and try,
I hide the truth behind a lie
But that's the way that I can win
A victim of your evil sin
You lost the faith within your heart
The fire in your soul from the end to the start

Hold on!It's never enough
It's never enough until your heart stops beating
The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain
Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

Love this song! Did you post it for a particular reason, Ben?

Me too-first New Order song I ever knew, off (of course) the Pretty In Pink soundtrack. That may have been one of the most musically influential tapes of my life, given how many of my later faves were on it (OMD, Joe Jackson...)

And yes, funnily enough, it was because the song you posted recently reminded me of it somewhere...

Which one of the songs I've posted inspired this posting?

Actually, I love New Order full stop. And OMD rocks. Joe Jackson is great--I love his Laughter and Lust CD.

Don't you think this is weird?

The Jim Croce one you posted yesterday, but if you asked me for a direct connection...

I like New Order a lot but wouldn't say I love them full stop; I recognize how hugely influential they were on their generation though.

OMD? I count myself very lucky to have seen the last tour of "OMD Proper" as I like to think of it. I've grown to like a few of the things Andy did on his own since, but he needs Paul.

And Joe Jackson is my second-favorite composer in the world (the first is the Tennant & Lowe duo, AKA Pet Shop Boys). I'm tempted to say just Google his name with mine and you'll see what I mean.

If you're asking if I think liking them is weird, you're asking the wrong fella.
