History.

Hey, remember the Schiavo case? It was the case which showed that Bush conservatives only care about women when they're brain-dead and unable to speak. It was an overheated melodrama in which almost everyone involved acted badly, a real nadir in the exploitation of people's pain and suffering.

The only good thing about it was that it finally began to expose said Bush conservatives as the weasely little rationalizers they are.

All these, of course, are merely my views. I'm sure you have your own, based on your memories of that time.

Fred Thompson doesn't. The bright and shining GOP star
was asked in an interview for Bay News 9's "Political Connections" program if he thought Congress' intervention to save the life of the brain-dead woman two years ago was appropriate.

"I can't pass judgment on it. I know that good people were doing what they thought was best," Thompson said. "That's going back in history. I don't remember the details of it."

"That's going back in history."

Two years ago.

"That's going back in history."

Do we really want to elect a president with ADD?

Again?

Ben, I would like an apology. That crack about ADD was completely uncalled for, and I felt truly insulted. Just because this asshole didn't want to discuss a contentious issue, citing it as "history" does not mean he has ADD--or that your current president does, for that matter.

In fact, that comment shows a shocking lack of awareness on your part about what exactly ADD comprises and how it affects those of us who have it. It seems as if you are saying that someone with ADD has a short memory and can conveniently "forget" their complicity in controversial matters when it suits them.

I read the whole article. Thompson is a politician; he's also a Republican--from Tennessee. And he's an actor. What is more likely is, he knows Bush's popularity is in the toilet and wants to distance himself by criticizing many of the decisions of the Bush administration--trying to say how different HE is.

This calculated approach is very different from the impulsive thought processes of someone with ADD. If anything, it speaks more to his being a slithery political animal.

It was a joke, Jen. I should think you'd be able to read that by now.
